FFX-2 looks like it going to be completely........gay. Not to be chauvanist or anything but there had really always been a male lead character for the series and that has always worked. There are plenty of characters the deal with but the main role was always for a teenage guy. Now three girls in skimpy clothes...now that's hot! but it's a game and that's not real. now i'll go back to my cage in the corner of my room and play D&D.

About "The Witcher" ---> this is polish project ( CD-Projekt Red Studio ). You can check this site---> www.thewitcher.com.
I have read books written by Andrzej Sapkowski and I must say that they are very good. If you have question just ask...

And do you see the picture on the left? This is witcher Geralt. This picture is from the "Wiedzmin" ("The Witcher" ) movie, which I must say is not very good:).

Nah, I never liked the Witcher, even if the author obviously is having a great time writting those books. Connan-style Sword & Sorcery books aren't my type.

I am looking forward to see Jade Empire from Bioware as well as KotOR: Sith Lords and Fable.

Interesting to go back a page and see somebody eagerly awaiting Lionheart. I wonder what they thought when they got it? Most people seemed to think it was a stinker. The people who published it here have removed all reference to it on their site, and I've noticed that the guys from Obsidian neglect to mention their involvement with Lionheart in the PR that talks of their illustrious past at Black Isle. Fortunately, that was one game I didn't rush in and buy on release day... Did anybody like it?

Games that I'm hoping will be worth getting:

Kult
Jade Empire
KoToR 2
NWN2
Oh, and still cautiously optimistic that Divine Divinity 2 will be OK.
There must be others, they just don't spring to mind right now.

Not me. It was obviously far from finished, and I said as much, at the time. Even the finished part was woefully unbalanced and a joke, as far as "roleplaying" was concerned.

@ spick -> well the game should be interesting considering the fact that most people do not perceive sea lions as evil. so why not? Seal Of Evil!

@ others on lionheart -> i'm one of those who were hugely disappointed with it as i recalled that year was quite a dry one for RPGs. if there were any, most aren't my type. the beginning was very promising.

@ krull -> FF-X2 is obviously not gay but feminine. still, one shouldn't let the question of gender deprive him/her self of a good game. had the game come out on PC, i would've bought it already. i'm not above 'macho-macho man' mentality so as to judge a game just because there's no male character. female gamers have no problem playing male characters, so why should men be so fickle about playing as opposite gender?

just enjoy a game as it is.

jade empire looks good though riddled with cliches. cliched asian these & thats. anyway, if it's good gaming, i'm all for it. if u like kill bill, u'll like jade empire; classic kung-fu flick.

i recalled reading in bioware forum that many people especially those who are into asian history or martial arts who didn't like how certain 'facts' are handled in jade empire when it was announced. tough for them, as the game's loosely based on some asian myths or histories or whatever. meaning, the developers will take only what they want then twist to their own liking/convenience.

i hope more RPG developers will look east for ideas. there are fabulous lores & myths from china, korea, japan, indochina(vietnam, laos, cambodia), south east asia (malaysia, indonesia, phillipines, thailand, myanmar), india, persia/babylon (sounds nicer than iran/iraq), etc.... .

heck, even for european myths & lores, russia has so many (discounting variations) which quite a number are my favs; tales of Baba Yaga, quite a significant character in many folk tales.

NWN2 is way too far to be considered. any more soon-to-be-released titles?

Oh yeah, I forgot about Vampire the Masquarade Bloodlines. I think this will be nice RPG. This game is running on the Half Life 2 engine, so it could be really good.
Oh, and you are a vampire. That's nice change...

Another game I've seen some interesting snippets about is "The Bard's Tale".

Anybody being following the progress of that one? I think I saw somewhere that it's coming out on consoles later this year and PC early next year??

Of course the PR blurbs always make the games sound good.....

There's a link to the makers but it takes forever to load on my old dial-up connection so I haven't had a chance to check it out properly.

Yes, it will be another interesting game...
But: Coming to the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Xbox® video game system in Fall 2004 and the PC in early 2005.
Why I don't have PS2? chlip
The main character will have Cary Elwes voice. It will be funny. He was playing Robin Hood in 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights'.
Yup, it will be gog RPG game...

Yeah, I was playing a vampiress. But I must say this vampiress wasn't as good ( as the character ) as I wanted... I mean she was like the rest of heros with some other abilities and skills. In my opinion she is not true vampire:).
