Was browsing the annihilated Games Domain (now part of Yahoo Games) and found something which makes the Seraphim look like Maria Theresa: Now THIS is bad taste!

Well, a few Minutes ago I took a look into the DEmo - and I was shocked !
I mean - the Seraphim looked at first glance like a cheap cliché of a so-callede "babe" to me (mildly speaking).
Well, NOW I understand what you've meant ...
However, I got relatively accustomed to the "person", although I always wished she had a *little* bit more clothes ...

More clothes, less clothes... "Ils sont fous, ces hommes". . (Trans.: Those men are crazy. [no offence meant])

I finally got bored enough to download and take a look. I also played a Seraphim (sp?). My thoughts? I thought the graphics were decent. But choppy. I got quite a bit of slowdown in odd places.( Celeron 1.1,512mb ram,ATI 7500) The gameplay was pretty cool. I liked the horse, but the shift/leftclick did not work to dismount. So having to click the horseshoe in the upper right of the screen to dismount for battle kinda sucked. She took way to much time getting on and off the horse, hopefully they will work that out in the full version. The quest compass and the main quest arrow in the same place were very helpfull, and being able to choose which sidequest you wanted to take when you wanted to take them was a nice touch. The special moves were really cool, and worked very well. The magic spells that she had were cool also, and I loved the "convergence" spell, especially when there was a crowd of baddies. All of those worked really well too. So far, all in all. I am going to give the demo a ***1/2 outta *****. I am going to try the demo again as the Gladiator. I'll let ya know about that later.

You didn't specify when the graphics got choppy, but I'll bet it happened in town. At that point you can zoom in and things run smoothly again.

Thanks for the heads up there, Cleglaw. I forgot all about the zoom. Never used it at all. Will try it though.

I also played the demo right up to the point where my 'time' for the demo ran out. I really like the way the inventory, and stats were combine into one window screen. Another good point was the way inventory, combat, and combos were set up, made it easy to navagate between them. The horse riding was great.
Did anyone find the easter egg near the cemetery???

Do you mean what the graves say? Good sense of humor reminiscent of DD.

Developpers tend to put most of the easter eggs on miscelansceous graveyards. One of the best: The guy from the grave in BG1 (you click on the grave many times and an annoyed guy comes in with henchmen). Another funny thing in Arcanum: "Owens Moore pass'd away, Owning more than he could pay."

I'm through the Demo as well. I really like it !
I sense a lot of love for details - at least graphically (rather not the characters, but the environment).
At Ascaron they are currently working for a second Patch - seemingly again aimed at Multiplayer. Their servers went down, I read at their News Section of 15.000 connection-tries for Multiplayer - their servers couldn't stand it !
THere are reports of some bugs (not many), but what the posters here in the german section don't like at all is the relatively massive respawning of monsters.

Interesting. A lot of folks who only played the demo were concerned that monsters didn't respawn. Alrik, are you going to buy the game? Well, considering the DEmo, I had also though monsters wouldn't respawn. I would certainly buy it, if I had money. The overall environment is what I like most.
