Yea, I intent to do just that, but still what choice should be the ultimate one? I get that releasing the Source to all in Rivellon won't exactly do it, there's too many people still corrupted, or plain evil (Black Ring), so passing the power to them doesn't sound like the best idea ever, did Ifan really put some thoughts into it, as he claims he did?
Purging, well, it has drawbacks in that the heroes become Silent monks? Malady saves them, but then you spent the rest of your un-life in the Hall of Echoes, I guess? Becoming the next Divine seems a good idea at first, but then again, this happened to Lucian and how did he end? Malady seems to have a new powerful ally (like the Godwoken wasn't her ally already and they weren't powerful on their own account, or something) in the new Divine, yet she won't ask them for help, like what's wrong with her? And Windego in this ending isn't quite the happiest, still suffering under the God King's Covenant, being the main narrator of the whole story, she should probably survive. Which takes us back to the Purge ending, the only one, where she gets her "and they lived happily ever after" ending. She makes up for her sins and tells the story. Good, everyone is happy, no one is a Sourcerer anymore. But what about the heroes? It still doesn't feel right, for all the effort, you sacrifice yourself instead of becoming the Divine. Gaining Divinity was your main goal for half the game and you just throw it out of the window for the greater good? Really I don't know. An ultimate sacrifice may sound noble and stuff, but is this, what the Godwoken fought for? Does it eventually save Rivellon? I think there was something about Driftwood being attacked by the Voidwoken coming from the sea, not sure though. Wouldn't that mean, that the Voidwoken still pose a threat and there are no Sourcerers to deal with them anymore? And no Divine, although it seems Lucian is alive, but as a mortal, powerless. Doesn't sound right to me.
Also do the endings affect anything, aside from achievements, because I play with mods, so achievements are disabled and I don't really care about them? There's no NEW GAME+ option, so after you get to see the credits, you can start over with another character and unfold the story anew, unaffected by any of the previous progress, right? This would mean, that I would have a save just after the final boss fight, before the final choice and there's no point of saving later (like on board the Lady Vengeance after the choice was made to see the final cinematics).
