Thnx for the info Cleg. I am not up to install all the patches but somewhere I read that this Plus ver. is needed if I want to play on line. I messed up with the downloading due to the bad weather we had the past 2 days. Electric power went carzy down here and my pc turned down violently three times. I think I am going to purchase the new Sacred edition which includes the Plus ver. What everybody thinks?

I am all in for a night on line in Sacred. The more I play with my Seraphina the more I like it. Please include me in the party. I loved when we played Diablo on line. I am sorry that our German friends can not join.

"Q: Do all players need the same language/country version?

A: No, you can play together (in any of the multiplayer modes) with everyone
who has Sacred. It does not matter if you or they use the US, UK, German or
French version of the game. CD keys are also independent of the
language/country version of the game, and the same key works with any given
version."

Ditto--on the English forum. I'm not sure how this would work though. The Germans, for example, have their own ladder which means they have their own server.

Perhaps the info are incorrect. But if you take a look in the FAQ via the link I have added you will see that the info provided are pretty accurate.

We can try though

I received this response on the official forum:

If it is true then how do we make it work?

Not true for closed or open games. Any game where you need to go through
a lobby server won't work because of the CD-key.
Only way you could possibly play together is on a local lan or through a VPN.
I heard that some poeple try to use a VPN to play together, but performance was so bad that it didn't work out....

-----------------
In other words you can't get onto the german lobby with an english cd-key and vice versa.
As i said, not my answer, it's from the german forum.
You probably read what I wrote there
Did some testing with the different lobby servers and they reject
keys which were not "supposed" to play there.
That has been confirmed by Ascaron on the german forum as well.
If you manage to get a german key (trade one or buy) you should be able
to play on a german MP game.
Really a pity that they won't allow international games for some reason.."

Luc,before you buy the retail version of Sacred Plus,be aware that there is a patch for it that must be downloaded as well--about 13 mb.

Thnx Cleg. Hate patches anyway. Really. And 56K connections...

Pitty that we can not play all together. Cleg this week I will go on a bussiness trip. Perhaps next week we can play on Saturday.

You will not be able to log in until you have upgraded to the latest version. If it is too big of a download for you, you can send me your mailing address and I will mail you a CD with the upgrade patch on it. I will need to know precisely what language version you own.

As for closed vs. open:
I never play on open. On open people can create characters on their own machine and import them into the MP game resulting in the possibility of cheats and hacks. I tried open once and vowed never to go back.
Our best bet if it is just going to be the 2 of us is to get into a 4 player game on the closed server. I presume btw that you will be starting a new character-yes?

Cleg that is so nice of you! Thank you very much!
I will pm you my address. I am sorry I put you in so much trouble but the upgrade version is very big and unfortunatelly I can not download it with 56k connection. I can buy the plus version though in order to spare you from the trouble.

Oh Yes I will create a fresh new Seraphina for our on line meetings. And I never cheat or hack games. My char will be pure and nice. Like me
Looking forward to play on line,
many thanks again
Luc

Almost ready in English.

"Patch Development Completed 25.11.2004

Hello everyone!

The development of the Patch has been concluded. Addressing the issues which were reported by various players from Server instability to faulty save game loading (disappearing doors etc.) we are on schedule with our original release plan.

Detailed information as well as final checks for the international localisations will also be concluded and the Patch will be made available as early as the beginning of next week.

More details to follow shortly.

The SACRED Team"

How is your game coming along. I have discovered how great horses can be. I'm currently working on a DE lvl 61 closed MP hard core, who rides a horse everywhere. Attack speed on horseback is much faster for de, sera and bm.

Horses are great for long distances. I wish Larian would implement some, too.

But I must admit that the animation was've been very hard to make, I mean the animation where the hero/heroine "enters" the horse.

And, well, horses do die quickly, given the most efficient opponents. I'm quite glad that using potions also heals the horses.

I read a rumor that in the capital of the country there is a shop selling extraordinary horses - if you have used enough skillpoints for that.

With 3 points in riding you can get a light warhorse, available at Braverock and other locales.
With 9 points in riding you can get a heavy warhorse, available at Mystdale castle, at the back of the stable--1st buy it, then sell it and buy the one that spawned in its place--very nice horse and the best you can buy.
With 72 points in riding you can get on 1 of the horses that later turn into a monster at that quest where the phony uncle asks you to find his niece (near Faerie's crossing). Do not take and do the quest afterwards or you'll find yourself riding a hostile lizard. Either of these 2 horses are basically invincible.

Boy that game is really big!
I had a great time this weekend completing some quests. I am starting to like my Sepaphina although she is blonde
