Since the latest update I can't load my Honour Mode save any more. If i make a new game, loading that is no problem.

I am not using any mods, I have verified game files, disabled windows defender, I deleted all folders except playerprofile in Documents > Larians Studios > Original Sin 2 Def, a friend of mine tried loading the save from his pc, same thing happened.

I'm out of ideas :I

Here is the save file if anyone wanna try.

I can load your save in the public and developer build of the previous version of the game. In the latest release (public and developer), it crashes at the very end of the loading process.
I will create a bug report to get a programmer to take a look at this.

To revert to the previous game version:

With the GOG release, in Galaxy select the game, click More and select Settings, then uncheck automatic updates, in order to manually select the last update.

With Steam, it is possible to download previous versions of games using a console in the client. See this guide and the related screenshots.
Note that the guide suggests moving the current install folder and replacing it with the downloaded version, but it would be easier to leave the current install in place, and move the downloaded folder wherever you want to play from (perhaps renaming it 'DOS2 old version', or something), and start it from the executable.
After confirming the previous version works, you can delete the 'bin', 'Classic' and 'Data' folders from its main folder, since you don't need a duplicate of the original release of the game (just the 'DefEd' folder).

thx for the help. Got it to work smile

Here's the code from steamdb site for the previous version of the game (3.6.51.1333jajp) if someone else needs to roll back.

I am having the same issue. It would be great to hear if there is attention being paid to fixing this via a patch. I would prefer not to roll back my version... plus my save is a multiplayer game and I don't want to bother my friend with having to roll back his version either.

Any info would be great.

A little more info: this only seems to happen with the saves that I have activated some of the previous perks on such as Pet Pal for my party, sourcerous sundries and hagglers. I think those are the only perks activated.

When I load saves where I haven't activated any perks I have no problems.

Thanks!

Yes, this will be fixed as soon as possible. Additional saves could help.

If you are playing on PC, please email supportdos2@larian.com with your latest save (or email/post/PM a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc), as well as the most recent save you can load and the oldest that crashes. If you are using any non-Larian mods, also include a list of those enabled and/or the modsettings.lsx file from your profile folder.
Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames\Story' folder.
In Windows Explorer you can zip a file or folder by right clicking on it/them and selecting 'Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder' (and similarly in OSX/Finder).

PS4 saves can be sent, as well, but they would need to be transferred to a USB flash drive first.
In the Saved Data in System Storage section of the Settings menu, click Copy to USB Storage Device, select the relevant save(s) and Copy. From there you can zip the files, then copy to email or upload somewhere and provide a link.

Thank you.
In the save above, and the second we received, the issue was due to the effect for Reactive Shot (which doesn't work in the current release).
Earlier today another person provided saves that did not have Reactive Shot active, but loading in the developer build for the previous version there are errors for unknown effects.

This problem was solved in the latest patch, atleast for me. No workarounds needed anymore.

Having this issue now myself.

I can't load any of the saves my friends and I have played together. As soon as it begins loading, it crashes to desktop immediately.

We are playing with a handful of mods, but strangely enough, I can start a new game with all of those mods, create a save, and reload that save without issue. But it looks like all our saves are corrupted or something?

About to shoot an e-mail off to that address Raze suggested as well!

Any other suggestions?
