You bitter boomers cant go a full sentance without lying.

you had 10 minutes of the characters and expect them to beat your nostalgia addled fantasy? You only have yourself to blame.

>World living without PCs
opposed to baldurs gate which totaly does that, only it doesnt.
You had an animal running around on its own

>We did tno see saves
you didnt, because you didnt watch the presentaton, several enemies saved for effects

>Initiative
did you literaly not see the big box with INITIATIVE popping up at the beginning of combat?
No you didnt because you didnt watch it.

>Element of surprise
you literaly had a character getting a bonus round from surprise

>hit miss percentages
Unlike DnD, which totaly doesnt have those.
Oh no! it does, you can show dice as percentages. its almost as if showing a dice target and a gorillion of boni stacked on it isnt any more immersive.
Sven literaly adressed this and you chose to ignore it.

And no youre not gonna play it, because youre a boomer. youve stopped your intake of information. Youve entered the stage of your life where you only dwell on the past, and where any future stimuli that you might enjoy is bombarded with a stream of lies from your subconciousness, because you somehow feel that enjoying something, or even giving something new credit, would lessen your enjoyment of the old thing.

Why are you doing this to yourself.

OK, I'm not sure how you manage to fit some correct assumptions into a rant basically made of improperly used "OK BOOMER"

In fear (or is it hopes?) of sounding like a boomer: I mean, as much as the style of the writing may be considered toxic he does make a good point - too often we make ourselves believe the games we played as kids were much better than they actually were, glorifying them to the point of exclusion from enjoying anything new.
The main comment I've found in this forum so far is "THIS IS NOT (optionally MINE or OUR) BALDUR'S GATE!!11eleven" because it doesn't show the characters in the old game and/or aren't about the bhaalspawn (funny, I didn't think it's called Bhaalspawn Gate). If there was a character from the old games or any connection to the old plot I personally wouldn't want it spoiled... which in retrospect probably explains why the first game is called "Baldur's Gate" and not "The Bhaalspawn" or some-such.

I can understand people are passionate about things but the fact is that the possible target audience is just too damn wide. As someone that's played BG, D:OS and D&D (and enjoyed them all) I'll probably be OK with anything Larian ends up doing, though I can see how any of the possible core fan-bases might be upset about any sort of compromise or deviations from "purity", which is preventing them from enjoying the game.
