I love what I've seen so far, it feels like a next generation game with cool camera position options and cinematic immersion from NPC's and companions and I never even played the Divinity series. Off course, the visuals are just breath taking and really felt like a fantasy med evil setting to me. I care less about nostalgia feeling from BG1-2 those are old games with poor visuals anyways, I'm 44 and played all the DnD video games in existence and if nostalgia is going to be my only parameter to play a game or not i failed. But I do look for immersion and that can be improved, it's too early. Regarding the 5th edition rules, even though I've played DnD past editions, it's going to be the 1st time for me trying it. The combat in DnD for me was never about the mystery of the monsters you faced, because all you had to do was pick up the manual and know what your going to expect. But combat was all about the DM and how he/she made sure nothing was too overwhelming or impossible and yet challenging.

So, for a video game like BG3, all I expect is to be challenged regardless of the fact of my percent chances of hitting a monster or vice versa. There is a lot of things to dissect in the 1st game play video they showed and lots of people said things in theses forums that will make you think if they even watched it! Also, don't forget that community feedback is important and there is nothing here that suggests that Larian studios is not going to hear are concerns, but don't expect major overhaul of the game just because of your lack of nostalgia feeling that you didn't get when you watched it for the 1st time.

Also, the signs were written in the stars that BG3 was going to look a lot like Divinity series and most of you knew this for many months now. Some of you were just waiting to see this very game play to pounce and complain and just hiding in the shadows. But I respect your opinions, so I fully expect that you should move on to other games like WOTR or Solasta, although it's weird that Solasta looks alot like BG3 now that I think about it but in any case it is what it is.

Keep in mind that the game is still in pre-alpha, there is room for a lot of improvement and particularly we love options. So, to give Larian Studios advice, is to give players options on things like UI or difficulty levels of combat like maybe having options to hide the HP of monsters or whatever. Also, they haven't even added all the classes maybe even races to the game. There is room for lots of polish and give more immersion to the game. All in all, I feel optimistic about this game.
