You think a general game engine like Unity3D or Unreal is comparable to the very specific in-house engine that was used for D:OS I and II and now BG? What gives you the certainty that the current 8-month-old looks have nothing to do with the engine? As far as I can tell you neither have experience with Unity3D, Unreal or Larian's engine.
