The goofy DOS2 action animations for everything in Larian's D&D DOS2 clone really take away from the immersion and sense of integrity
But the stiff and wooden animations of the old games were full of vigor and personality?
Did I say that they were, or that that's even what I'm advocating for in a Baldur's Gate game? No. Baldur's Gate's animations are serviceable for the time they were made. It was possible for BioWare to create with that technology animations that convey goofiness and insincerity just like DOS animations do, but BioWare didn't do that.
What I said in my previous post is that the DOS animation histrionics are designed to appear insincere and like a comedic mockery of their underlying actions, and are not suitable for a Baldur's Gate game.
