Warlocks are by far my favourite class to play so my question is do you lot think that we will get a list of patrons to pick from or do you think we will be forced into just one patron I really don't like the idea of just having just having one patron to pick from but I do see the problem with having a huge list of patrons to pick from if you could pick just one patron to have for your warlock who would it be I would pick Malcanthet as my patron the queen of the succubi what can I say I have a thing for succubus don't judge me lol

Well, there should be at least one patron per archetype (Archfey, Fiend, Great Old One, etc.). I would very much like patron specific content. Like, your patron can come to you with a quest or demand something of you that is specific to your class/character.
Would also like to see Paladins needing to recite the oath they wish to embody, or an Eldritch Knight having to complete a quest line from a Wizard to gain their subclass abilities, or a Beast Master Ranger needing to track down a pet of their choosing. There are so many different ways to incorporate specific class content to make the game feel more immersive.
We had class specific strongholds in BG2. Hopefully there will be more class specific content in BG3.

I think I saw a pull down menu in the video. Started with the fiend . . .
Strongholds would be great!

This is why I am thinking we will be forced into one patron per archetype I mean if there was not going to add any warlock specific quests it would be easy to do but if there are adding in quests to do with your warlock pack you are going to be limited to just one patron per archetype still a man can dream though a man can dream

A massive list of potential patrons vs a smaller list with more fleshed out content. I can see the value of both, but I land on the side of more fleshed out content/quests.

Strongholds would be great! I have just cheek out the video again and the up and down main is for the Archfey and the Great Old One packs not for picking which patron you want to pick from the Fiend pack

I would absolutely love for warlocks to interact with their patrons narratively - and not just once for the entire story. I think out of all the classes, except for the cleric of course, the warlock is really defined by the entity with which it has formed a pact. Also, I REALLY hope that spell visuals will be altered based on the patron (fiery effects for fiend, dark celestial effects and tentacles for Great Old One).

Also, I REALLY hope that spell visuals will be altered based on the patron (fiery effects for fiend, dark celestial effects and tentacles for Great Old One). Powers are supposed to feel and look very different depending on the patron, yes. Lorewise, it is confirmed that depending on whether your patron is a Fiend, Archfey or Celestial the visuals do look different. Since that is likely a lot of work, I am guessing we will get a lot of spells in common regardless of the Patron, which might be a little awkward, I think specially if you choose Archfey or Celestial, since the first would be very nature, whimsical, feywild magic, and the second one would be lighter, holier, divine-like... And then a few patron-specific spells, which are the ones you can find in E5.

Only a detail about WLK. WLK are more akin to master/apprentice, not cleric and his deity. But IMO the pacts will gonna be archfiend and archfey...

Great old one is already there so they already got the best one fluff wise. satisfied there, id actually prefer them having less but actually putting some roleplaying interactions with your patron in

Mechanically the Raven Queen is the favourite for most, because of Hexblade, or undying for defensive necromancy spells, but I always had a penchant for the archfey patrons, for Roleplay purposes, like Hyrgam the Prince of fools or Oberon and Titania. You usually get some weird and strangely requests for them that seem like jokes most of the time, and your interactions in the campaigns use to be really fun. I remember when I played a deaf warlock that received coded messages from his patron in notes he found inside roast chicken or in a spiked rose in his bedroll. Fun times.
PD: I concur that, if they allow patron interactions ingame, they are going to be tied to the warlock´s archetypes, I think. I hope I´m wrong because the warlocks have plenty of potential, and I´m still sore about the warlocks depiction in NWN games.

Ones I have played my tiefling warlock fiend pack i will play as a half-elf warlock archfey pack

I am worried about this, because if there are no focus on Alignments, then Deities become a free-for-all and are basically just "stat blocks" that buff stats and abilities, and not something important to the character.
Warlock Patrons are a hugely important part of the class.

Agreed i would like someone that is working on the game to give us some info on what we are getting with the warlock patrons there do play a big role in DND but on deities that really is not a new thing you could play as a lawful evil fighter who could worship Tyr as has main god
