There is a game on PC called "Grimmwood" and it does have limited rolls, and that does work out for the game. However it is a game based on co-operation with other players. In essence the players make the story. I don't believe there is any single player equivalent to date that can provide the same experience. Perhaps when game AI reaches a sci-fi like level to where you can easily mistake them for people.
