Although, with some of the quarrel heads I've seen, even a .22-level impact could be pretty gruesome !
Yeah, I don't really want to dwell too long on the sort of unpleasantness it could cause! And as much as I'm "it's
only like a .22", that is something that is absolutely capable of killing, even in relatively untrained hands and even at a distance while pretty much ignoring any mediaeval type body armour it finds on the way. No wonder these things were so feared.
