There have been two people, so far (Tanist & Wes), writing furry hate speech, and even though both have been reported, repeatedly, neither has been banned. One has been doing it for DAYS with 0 punishment.
I'm not talking about insults. I'm talking about literal 'Destroy the furry community', 'BURN the furry community' and 'All furries are mentally ill/social degenerates/sick people'.

This is not the kind of atmosphere you want to allow on the Steam forums, which is the first stop for almost everyone who sees BG3 via steam.

..Hate speech pointed towards furries?

I gave examples above. People saying anyone who wants playable races in D&D (Like the Tabaxi, kobolds, etc) are mentally ill, one person stating that all furries are..well, I don't want to get banned here for repeating it.

It's an atmosphere of hate and bigotry.

We can add a third person to the hate speech on there. The steam forums need an actual mod.

I think it's important to note that we're not the Steam forums and have no control over what happens there. Doubly so in my case, I seldom even use the Steam forums and have zero influence. All I can do is to try to make sure the small corner of the interweb that is the Larian Forums remains civilised; and I'm not entirely comfortable about bringing Steam's problems here...

Sorry. I was not trying to bring the problems here.
It's just that the Steam forums reflect on Larian as much as the forums here, and they need to give someone mod privileges there to clean up the dumpster fires.
I think more people will see the Steam forums over these forums, since it's linked too right on the store page. That's not to belittle these forums; I'm just worried about the image of the company because Steams mods are not doing anything to clean it up.

They lock threads, sure, but they don't ban the people making actual hate speeches at the moment.

Edit: That said; I brought it up in an attempt to help. This thread has been seen, and thus it can be locked, please. smile

From what I understand (which is little, as I am not a frequent visitor at all) it seems to be Valve's call and the moderation tools when they are given are not very useful. Plus there's the matter of who would volunteer: I suspect that few of those who would do so responsibly would want the job!

As you wish. The point has been noted and I think it is probably for the best.
