I wish another RPG would do what Lufia did; the monsters you could have as extra party members, and feed items to (they had items they liked, which changed after a few feedings) to level them up.
Or like Arc The Lad, where you could literally capture any monster and train it to be a party member.
I do think this is a good challenge for Larian Studios to see if there can have a monster companion or a monster romance in a meaning full way like I have said this has never been done before in any dnd video games we have had monster companions before but there was more or less a joke companion not someone that could help you in any meaning full way in our adventures
