Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems Unable to obtain Skills from Skill books

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I am using Fane as my magic user on Switch. he has at least 1 point in all the different schools of magic, yet I cannot Learn the skills. One says needs at least 1 point in Pyrokinetic, he has 2, but it says he doesn't meet the requirement to learn the skill. Is this because he has too many points? I have the same issues if Ifan, he has 3 or 4 points in Huntsman and I have Skill books that say he needs 1 but they won't let me learn the skills. I even waited untilI got the collars off both of them in case that was interfering, but still nothing. Other 2 characters may have similar issues, but I haven't tried giving them any Skill Books recently.

Have you invested skill points in Pyrokinetic for Fane, for example, or are these levels from equipment bonuses? IIRC skillbooks check the base level for skill categories, rather than the current level.

Hi, I have the same problem , just like Gusoline. So far I am lvl4 with Int 11, Mem 11, and already spent a point in Hydrosophist. However when I learn restoration from a book, I cannot choose it from my skills. I do have 2 more free mem slots for skills, but restoration is not anywhere to choose it. I can only choose from the starting skills (battle stomp, tentancle slash and bull horn). There is no Hydrosophist school

Already spent many hours in the game and I dont want to restart. How do I fix this?

Does the character have Restoration already from an equipment bonus? It is listed in that section in the skill window, and it is on the hotbar.

Please email supportdos2@larian.com with your save before using the skillbook (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc). If you are using any non-Larian mods, also include a list of those enabled and/or the modsettings.lsx file from your profile folder.
Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames\Story' folder.
In Windows Explorer you can zip a file or folder by right clicking on it/them and selecting 'Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder' (and similarly in OSX/Finder).

Yes, the Restoration I have listed comes from equipment. I am no using any mod. I will send my save file as you required.
