I prefer printed books, as well, but have a bunch still in boxes from the last time I moved, partly for lack of space (I could make room if I had time to re-read anything). My brother's wife is in a book club and really likes her Kindle, and a while ago my brother and I got one as a gift for our mother. Since then I've bought a few Humble book bundles, some for my mother and some myself, though have not borrowed the Kindle to try reading anything yet.
What an e-reader lacks in charm, it makes up for with functionality.
