In none of my play throughs was Buttons the cat persuaded to let me talk to the little girl (Blood Island) as my "pet pal" person hasn't generally been the same as my best persuasion person. So, since this is my last play through, I'm just wondering what happens if Buttons is persuaded? It feels awkward when the demon is expelled when she says she's going to look for buttons knowing that I killed her.

Also, there's mention of a powerful sourceror in the north of Blood Island (magister bulletin board in basement prison) - would that be the dead druid?

I put 2 Persuasion points from equipment on my pet pal character for this quest. 2 Persuasion was enough to persuade the cat in my case, maybe not for you.

Did you kill both of them? I didn't get it if you killed both or just the cat or what. I persuaded the cat and brought her to the ship. Later on, killed her demons, on Arx, and then she says she will look for Buttons. As we can't go back to Bloodmoon Island I guess that's it. I think there's no extra dialogue if you persuaded the cat.

I like to think that she went and found her undead cat. Some people have said that would be impossible since he's so far from her, on that bloody Bloodmoon Island. But man! she survived 5 big ugly demons inside her, locked in a vault without food for god knows how long... Finding her cat is gonna be easy for her. Plus she's a sourcerer, I think.

I don't know who would be this powerful sourcerer in the north.

If you can't persuade Buttons, the only option to continue is to kill him/her then dialogue comes up allowing the transport of the girl to the ship. It sounds like there is no difference whatsoever other then Buttons survives in undead form. Too bad you can't transport both of them. I think she'd have a hard time passing the death fog in her cat search - she probably never learned how to use the source very well being so young. I'd like she did reunite, perhaps Buttons sensed her near and crossed over himself (walking on the bottom of the lake or whatever).

As far as I know, there are no sourcerors on the north of Bloodmoon Island. It just mentions one on the magister bulletin board there and the only character of sorts on the north of the island is the dead druid so I guessed it might be him. It's possible something was planned for there that was never done too plus, in a game like this, I'm sure there's still a lot that I missed.

Was Buttons female? I'm not sure if I'm using the right pronoun.

The little girl is one of 3 prisoners locked in vaults right? The other 2 being a dwarf and a lizard. I think the lizard claimed to be Godwoken, so probably also a sourcerer.
I used an old save file to see what is said on the magister bulletin board inside the prison. I mean, I hope we're thinking about the same prison here, I went to the underground prison in Driftwood, below Magister Carver. What I read there is that there is "sourcerer activity" (or something like that) in the north of Bloodmoon Island. It wasn't referring to a single sourcerer in particular, so I think we could have multiple candidates here.

I don't know. I used him/her then got lazy and just said him. All the cat voices sound female to me and buttons could be either.

We were. The lizard was entombed long before the magisters' war on sourcerors (at least, that is what I think, an assumption I made based on what characters said) but the Advocate also had to be a master sourceror to train godwoken. I didn't consider him because he's based to the south of the island. It's likely one of those things without answer.

Oh, take a look at the map of Bloodmoon Island. You know what looks like big sourcerer activity? the tree! or whatever they were doing to the tree. It's kinda on the north and it's at least some "activity" if not source activity.
