Never say never, but I am unlikely to play BG3 before full release. Unless it will be really really well optimised for a get go.
There is a reason why first couple hours long session is dedicated to deciding whom I will play as. It will also be heavily influence by roleplay availability - what tags will catch my eye. Out of the ones you mentioned those are most likely:
Bard, Paladin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Wizard
I think we are supposed to be a Baldurian. I don't see a Ranger as a city kind of person... so it's Bard, Paladin or Spellcaster (Sorcerer/Wizard). Being a musician I always liked bards, but I am always terrified that I will create a sucky one. So if I feel brave: Bard, and if not I will pick Paladin (If I feel like fighting melee) or Wizard/Sorcerer if I feel like playing a spellcaster.
As to care nothing "exotic", as I don't know enough about lore to roleplay properly. Half-elf most likely? Like I don't want to be a boring human, so lets be a slightly less boring hybrid.
