- I think its way too early to speculate about BG4 when we know nothing about BG3 but 3 pre alpha videos.
- I played BG2 before BG1 and I had no problem with that. Playing BG1 first may help to understand some background info, but it is absolutely not needed for enjoying BG2. Main advantage of playing BG1 first is that your char is stronger because of the stat books, plus BG1 is a great game too.
