My kids got me a gaming laptop for Father's Day so I'm above recommended but the GTX 1060(Recommended) came out 4 years ago and GTX 780( Minimum) came out 7 years ago.
I would imagine there are lots of modern games you can't play if you are running a 7 year old graphics card.
Good news is you can skip early access and save up to upgrade your system when the full release comes out in a year or so. With optimization the requirements may go down and you'll be all set to play recommended for the official release.
