I strongly favor melee combat over everything else including especially spellcasting. Why is that "playing badly"?
Well quite. I prefer whichever style of combat is my "thing" at the time and would rather not be pushed in a given direction because of some arbitrary presumption of badness for not choosing it.
Okay, I'm kinda rubbish at all forms of combat but that's not really the point.
