Is initiative still going to be all the pc move then all the enemies move?

Wasteland 3 is currently played like this, and not sure i like it. You always need to attack first inorder to get the advantage and its a hell of an advantage. Much prefer the older style in wasteleand 2.

No, they changed that from the initial gameplay reveal to individual based by the June gameplay showing. However, they are going to allow you to 'pair up' your choices if 2 or more of your party members have their turns in succession in the order as it falls.

Finally, playing Wasteland 3 for a few days I have to admit that I like this.
There are problem with the camera and it's not always easy to understand what happen but I guess with a few improvement it could give an great experience.

The flow of the combat is good and the turns aren't unnecessary slow especially when it's the IA's turn. It gives a better feeling of real time inside the turn base and I find it absolutely not perfect, but very interresting.

I think there are many options to tweak the experience in Wasteland 3 but I don't try them.

How is that done in a D&D campaign ? Individual initiative I guess ?

I've never been in a D&D group that did anything other than individual initiative, but it is technically an option.

Yeah, "Side Initiative" is an official variant rule for a D&D5e game. But they changed it to individual initiative plus concurrent turns for characters nearby. People playing MP are going to love that.

There´s a difference in Wasteland 3, and it´s that you usually have the option to rp or use one of your skills to determine who´s going first, your side of the enemy´s. You can trick them, intimidate them, or the dialogue option would determine if you to go first or if the enemies have the upper hand.
Not much of a fan of side initiative but the guys of Inxile made it in a very interesting way for an RPG like Wasteland 3.
