It was someone's initials on it. Its a tribute to Drizzt D'Urden. The initials C.B. are most likely for Catti Brie (spelling?), one of his companions in the Dark Elf books.

Finding the amulet with initials and the fact that 2 swords were near by was a good clue. DAoC used to control me.
