First let me tell you the game looks fantastic

I have a question regarding Lae'zel face animations, in few gameplay videos during conversations she looks almost ready to cry at worst and pout at best, which brings me to the my current query: are you guys finished with character animations or is this still work in progress?

cheers

She's a gythianki. They don't have much facial expressions compared to the other races. They are as cold as snakes. So don't expect her to smile.

Cold as snakes...? That might explain why they lay eggs...

Not sure that is true, although I would presume that their slave heritage might improve their capacity to hide their emotions/expressions. Otherwise, an expressive slave was tortured, killed or worse by Mind Flayers.

Mostly, there are two radically cultures of Gith : I mean the main difference is cultural more than racial. Githyanki are more xenophobic, defensive and ready to fight, and tend to be lawful evil, so logically other races tend to see their "warfaces" and almost never see their private emotions or behavior in their families, etc. When no one is looking, Githyanki might feel and express sadness, fear, etc.

BUT it is true that Laezel facial animations, and even facial form and style/clothing, was a bit different in the recent trailer. She had less of a "warface" or proud intimating demeanor, and more of a discouraged fearful expression when noticing she is in the bloody hells!

no no, i'm not talking about various face expressions, she can have just one in all game, but if you look at the conversation with crasher, she looks like she will cry if you yell at her. :),

Her body language suggests she is a problem solver (thinking introspectively), then makes the delivery with strong eye drivers. She is her unique self.
