We are all looking forward to spending our hard earned gold pieces on Baldur's Gate III. When we part with our gold, we are giving a wholehearted endorsement to the team that created it at Larian and also the game itself. I think that Larian could develop a more intellgient payment system.
As it is, our purchase gives propulsion to the game, but no direction or indication where the game should head in the future. What Larian could instead do is accept the $100 for the game, or whatever it is, and allow people who purchase to vote where 20% of that funding will go in future games, if they like. For example, there could be several options provided and you could allocate your $20 to these as you saw fit.

A feedback system like this could be very useful for Larian. It would also feel like there is greater ownership for those who purchase the game and contribute to the community through mods etc.
