How will they work in dialogues and passive skill situations? So far, I don't think we have seen any footage showing it.

Will there be two simultaneous rolls on screen when it happens? Or will it be a flat bonus or malus added to the one roll we do?

I don't think they've said. I do however hope that they show two rolls - for the same reason that they show a die rolling animation before it settles: it adds tension and anticipation to the roll, and seeing how good or bad the roll could have been without advantage or disadvantage makes the roll more memorable than simply incorporating the advantage or disadvantage into the DC.

From the videos shown so far they may be replacing dis/advantage with inspiration, allowing for re rolls. Either its replaced or is added in the math before the roll.

I'm pretty sure that's a different thing entirely.

Inspiration points are a completely different thing.

I'm not sure they revealed details on this yet. Off topic: IMO to see a dice rolling on the screen kinda breaks immersion, i.e. I don't need to be reminded I'm playing the video game version of a table top game.

I actually really like it as an aesthetic choice. It's possible that the roll itself might slow the pace of gameplay, but in principle seeing the dice roll on screen is a fun way to get players to connect with the game. I think it's a way of allowing a different kind of immersion, giving players the ability to feel the tension of waiting to see if the dice are in your favour. And to relate that to the primary topic, I think they should definitely show both rolls when you have dis/advantage.

It’s a nice touch. However some players prefer the numbers to be happening in the background, and that there is about as foreground as you can get.

I recon I’ll start off thinking it’s really cool, but it could get old after 20 or 50 checks. Should definitely be an option to hide it. As well as hiding passive checks as a separate option.

I would be surprised if there isn't a way to turn it on or off, at least by the end of EA. I'm totally stoked to see the dice rolls on screen but I totally get the perspective of those who don't want to see it every roll.

So according to one of the latest images they posted on fb, the advantage/disadvantages will be shown as a modified percentage for combat. The normal chances must be 75% (6+ on a die). And with 2 dice, it becomes 0.75 * 0.75 = 0.5625, thus 56%.

Hopefully, we will see 2 dice for dialogues and passive checks.
