Shaylee grew up on the streets of some far distant city. As long as she could remember, she felt the presence of something, like a splinter in he mind. Unnatural knowledge would seemingly leak from this splinter, helping her survive. Fatefully, one day she was scooped up by a marauding Mindflayer ship. These amazing beings placed something in her eye, that crawled into her mind. The splinter in her mind didn't seem to object. To her, this all seems... right, maybe even the way it should be. Free now, after having now survived the crash, Shaylee is seeking to understand her new brain companion and even to embrace it as if it were a long sought after friend.
