Before the suggestions, which are ranty, I wanna say the game looks great and is technically as good as I expected too.
First: Details. BG3 needs more detail in the character creation when it comes to classes, abilities, progression, skills and spells (lots more). Also, I think it's crucial that Skills are appropiately descripted in the Character Sheet. I was amazed when I couldn't even which skills I had with my ranger.
Second: Juicy numbers. We are nerds. We are fans. We are loyal. And we liked that in BG we had logs, to see all the juicy rolls. At least make it an option. Also, MORE information, at least make the character roll or something so we get some info. My ranger sometimes did 2 damage to the imps, but he had +3 DEX, so maybe they had DMG reduction... but I only deducted it by doing the math. Maybe it's too "meta" for you, so make it optional, remember this is a Baldur's Gate 3. Be faithful to the fans, we are not asking you to renounce what you are.
Third: One of the reasons I felt it so much like DOS 2, is because of the keybindings. And some controls/UI elements. We dont really get the TAB checker for interaction, instead we get something more simple (which I can accept), and it uses Alt instead of TAB. Why? it has always been TAB. It's like Valorant using TFGH instead of WASD, no true FPS veteran would be in for that.
More? C for stealth, instead of Character sheet. I can accept that too, but where's B for spellbook? Some thing HAVE to feel familiar for us to feel in a BG/DnD game, otherwise people will keep complaining that this is a DOS 2 mod. Who do you want to please guys? because I really feel like it's not me. Pathfinder Kingmaker did every thechnical thing like crap, but some thing they got pretty right. I hope you can get some things from them. And if you don't like some of it, why not make it optional? Just think about Baldur's Gate fans, the people that bought and played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
One solution to this issue, is to make a "hardcore mode" or "oldschool" mode for people who want to spent much more time studying character progression in creation, wanna have detailed descriptions of EVERYTHING (to at least the level of BG2/NWN).
Example: Fire Bolt. Description should say components (verbal, somatic), and it should say if the dice of the spell will become better, just like in Dungeon and Dragons (up to 5d10), etc.
There should be an enciclopedia too, to check many things, probably enough to understand DnD 5E mechanics. To me this way of hiding the numbers just seems like you are making the game to please another audience, and not the guys that have been wating forever and have supported and dreamed with you guys. I dont want to see only "you have +7 attack" on the character sheet. I want to rest my mouse pointer there and see the entire explanation: +3 dex, +2 proficiency, +2 ranged ranger. Same thing with Armor Class and so many things. CRPGs were never supposed to be too mainstream, too many people not like numbers, and reading, but WE DO!
