This is reported on Steam by a number of fellow Mac users, and wanted to raise as I haven't seen a thread here.
Steps to recreate:
- MacOS (all reports I can see are from iMacs that meets the specs)
- Launch game in Steam (also GOG reported)
- Launcher displays showing loading bar and 'Verifying Baldurs Gate 3'
- Launcher hangs, not completing for several minutes and in the application bar the BG3 logo displays but no response
Potential fixes I have seen this morning include just waiting for 20 mins for the loader but I'm unsure if this has to happen for every time the game launches.
I've also seen a potential fix by creating a shortcut and starting the game with steam closed. I will try both and report back.
For more context after installing and launching the first imt ei got a message saying my OS wasn't in date so I updated it and now have the veryifying issue.
