Please, consider adding the possibility of casting a spell by clicking on the paper dolls, either on the initiative tracker or the party roster. I think this would be quite welcome and would help avoid miscasting.
I think he's referring to the portraits on the bottom left or upper right in combat. I agree - you should be able to click the portrait to select a target for spells.
