to be fair, that's normally what happens in a pen and paper game, the party "face" will step in to deal with social stuff if they're available to do so. There will be times where they cant for various reasons, but if there isn't such a thing in place, it almost forces the main PC to be a face type character, which is a bad thing as lots of people will want to play other classes/builds etc.
It should at least have reactivity enough for it to be an option sometimes, it even is in original sin 2 at times.
also worth noting, with the d20 roll, there is always a chance of failure, especially as a natural 20 shouldn't be an auto success on skill checks.
