The gloves debuff them because they are "non-believers" of the Absolute, as it says in the description.

There is also a spell like "The Absolute's Protection" or something that I used during combat and it debuffed my girl frown

Pretty sure it only works on goblins, or maybe if you choose to be branded it will work on you but I did not.
