So I'm getting used to the layout and controls. I know this isn't BG 1 or 2, but there are a few things that stand out as not being as fun:
1. Why such a small party? 6 people was much more ideal.
2. Why no party formation? People wander into things like acid on the ground while trying to follow my character. Not only was there a party formation choice in the first two that had the party follow the exact steps of the leader, but the different formations spread the party out and exposed more map area as the progressed.
3. The camera. This is usually OK, but becomes horrible and unusable in narrow hallways or tunnels. And it needs to zoom out farther for a bigger overview of a battle. I spend more time trying to get the camera in a place where I can see everybody and get a tactical view than I do fighting sometimes.
So far, this is a pretty sweet game, but there are some components that made the first two games really fun and immersive, and they would help here. But I see where you guys are going with this, and I get it. There are just a few things missing, IMHO.
+1
The formations need to happen. Chaining is a bad mechanism. My characters have walked through fire (near where you find Gale) and fallen off a cliff (Druid Grove) because the chaining sends my characters in directions that I don't want them to go. Also, I seem to like climbing up and down ladders time and time again. Needs to better imitate the the IE / PoE engine.
