YES MORE DICE. I can't tell you how fast I would buy dice DLC just to get them to look special in the game too. I collect them IRL anyways. We never get to see the Advantage or Disadvantage. Everything is rolled behind the scenes for faster resolution. Even if it's made an option to turn on or off that's fine too. I know not everyone would want to see the dice. (Though I'm not sure why) The thrill of watching the dice roll is part of the thrill of D&D.
As for the enemy damage issues. Lillypaddle is correct. For example, the imps at the start have resistance to mundane weapons. You can check the stats and resistances of an enemy by right clicking them and choosing Examine. This will give you details of HP, AC, Stats, Resistances, Weaknesses, and Immunities.
