Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Crash to Desktop when using Launcher

Getting a crash to desktop when using the Larian launcher (steam version). The application will start, make it past the first 2 splash screens (larian and nvidia gameworks) and the load screen for the main menu, but crashes before reaching the menu. Running the application directly with the executable (bg3_dx11.exe) works fine, however.

Figured it out. Had Vulkan selected as default.

I'm having a similar problem, however I am able to get to main menu. When I click on "new game" the loading screen comes up and the bar goes across, but once it reaches the end it crashes. I tried choosing directx instead. I tried using the executable dirge listed, but it still crashes after loading.

I tried verifying the files through Steam. There was a problem, it downloaded the files again and I am able to play the game now.
