Okay,
This is coming from somebody that plays a lot of DnD, (and a lot of it as a Wizard).
I personally really dont like the current play style for Wizards.

Its just highly focused on Damage, and DOS 2 typical ground effects.
First of all i dont like these "burning" / freeze conditions here. I liked them in Divinity because it was the entire gameplay. Every class could do something with Elements to some extend.
Here this is up only for the Spellcasters while we have a lot of martial classes that just feel left out in this regard.

Second thing i dislike is the heavy "Combat Fokus" from the current gameplay. I think If you want to have pure Glass Canon Arcane Caster you should play Sorceror, not Wizard.
Wizard is all about study, to manipulate stuff, learn new spells. And also Ritual casting is missing!
I get that there might be a lot of Spells missing at the moment. The spells i am talking about are:

Detect Magic (I wanna see magic traps, figure out leads)
Comprehend Language (Just allow me to read these inscriptions in the crypt please...)
Identify (For items stats, maybe put in hidden effects?)
See Invisibility (Looking for Illusions, and to counter mirror image )
Knock (If your Rouge fails the check, but the door has infinity HP, just let me blast it open)
Shield (More AC)

Just to name a Few Spells, that i fell really make the Wizard feel a scholar. Because currently i really dont like the Design.
