I agree, I wish it would show me more of the math. Maybe even a combat log on the side where I can see all of the rolls. I have a quasit familiar whose claw attack is supposed to do 2d4+0 damage yet consistently hits enemies for 1 damage. Not everything in the monster manual has resistance so something fishy is happening behind the scenes of this game. If they are giving arbitrary resistances to every monster, I am not sure why. It seems to throw the balance off.

Having the dice roll and ac would also help my constant frustration with missing attacks most of the time despite a >90% hit chance....
