Hah... yea. While I tend to have a problem with clumsy ideology pushing in modern games, I don't think it's Larian's fault here. I mean, Gith are all haughty pricks and Shar priestesses are usually selfish b*tches, lusting for power, so, how else could they depicted them? I think it comes more down to the choice of NPCs they gave us in the EA then anything...
