The female companions (and all of the companions for that matter, including the "gay vampire") are written fine as far as I, a boy who hangs out with a bunch of boys in circles composed of almost solely males, am concerned, with realistic responses to the stress and trauma that's happened to them in roughly less than 48 hours following their abduction, infestation, and crash. Like Tzelanit mentioned, the sense of urgency of the situation is put into greater perspective and made into a much more impactful narrative tool when its something that influences their own ambitions and moods. And I could honestly want nothing more than characters whose moods, desires, and focuses represent that of the situations they find themselves in, not just the outlines of their personalities.
I'll also throw my hat in that I whole-heartedly believe this post was made in bad faith, and that Larian's moderation decisions concerning it are also 'questionable' in their own right.
