This post cracks me up because I feel like BG3 is just an improved DOS2. The combat is still turn based, which means massive fights take an hour to complete (hope you don't lose at minute 59). The silly atmosphere & mario colors are still there. The clunky chaining of party members together instead of a multi-select like in BG1, 2, NWN2, etc. is still there.
The only D&D type things I get a feel from are the random skillchecks you hate telling you you've failed to find something. Removing the pass/fail on the dice icon would be good. Then you wouldn't know if you just successfully avoided a trap, or if you just failed to find a hidden door. As-is, I see your point about this, because if you know you failed something you'll just move the rest of your party there. But if it's possible you successfully avoided a trap, you could get everyone killed by doing that. The red dice on screen and the critical hit dice are just pandering IMO and do nothing to improve the game.
Otherwise to me, it seems like a D&D skin on DOS2 with better combat (still janky) and a different way of leveling.
Fog of war and not allowing you to see through walls if you haven't explored the area is definitely needed. They do some type of this by not showing NPCs in those areas, but they still show the terrain.
I hate the camping system. It reminds me of Kingmaker, where you selected people to cook, scout, rest, etc. and then it took 5 minutes to complete. Instead of just clicking rest, seeing if you got ambushed, and continuing on in the dungeon. It also feels very weird to be instantly teleported to the woods, and then back into a dungeon.
I expected things like all the bugs you listed, and honestly that's the only type of thing I have any hope will get fixed.
