The real problem is that Jump is a bonus action and much too versatile due to that. In the Pen & Paper variant Disengage (which is what allows you to avoid attacks of opportunity) is an Action, and simply means that your movement for the round doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity. If I had to come up with a suggestion it would be to have both a Jump and a Disengage action, where jump could stay a Bonus Action but provoke attack of opportunity and Disengage would function as in the pen & paper game (is an Action, makes movement not provoke attack of opportunity).
