I didn't have that problem with mass effect.
And once again : since we can see our character standing here idle WHILE HAVING A CONVERSATION feels really weird.
Same for the companions that do nothing during cutscenes (like when the illithid eat your brain in the wreckage : they are just here doing nothing like everything is normal...
