We're not aware of any crashes on startup. There will be some hotfixes coming but nothing about Mac crashes on startup. You have to post crash reports here so we might get a look.
Use Activity Viewer and check the system activity. What's happening? Remember - the more you launch the game and terminate it - the more system will scan/scan/scan the executable. It has to complete the scan just once.
You absolutely have to see the launcher. And yes, sometimes it will take 10+ minutes to complete..
