Hi, Larian! I am enjoying Baldur's Gate III massively! I think it's wonderful, and can tell it will be one of the greats within the genre. However, I do think there can be a few improvements in places to make it the GREATEST.
TIPS:
- CHARACTER CREATION -
I would love to be able to choose between the point buy system, and another system that allows me to roll 4d6 within the game and drop the lowest die. This isn't a necessity, but I think most players would hugely appreciate it. I'm not a game designer however, so it is possible this would break the difficulty. I would also love to see more options for character size. Maybe a slider that overall adjusts body size? Or something like the size triangle in Fallout 4, so that we can adjust between muscular, plus sized, and skinny.
- VOICE ACTING -
I am a professional voice actor, so I tend to notice voice acting that sticks out in games. I know this is the first time you've done a game with cinematic camera placement, so no worries. However, I think that some ADR needs to be done. There are times where nothing is happening on screen. Like a character is supposed to be angry, but no sound emanates until dialogue. I think that there needs to be some grunts, some heavy breathing, or general added sound to said situations. I would also love to hear more protagonist grunts. I know this is also a lot to ask, as voice over is costly, but could you possibly add more character voices? I think it's fine the way it is, but it would be above and beyond a 10/10 if you implemented this.
- COMBAT -
I love this combat system, however, I would like to see a small change overall. I want to be able to see when I have advantage or disadvantage on an attack. I would also like a choice to not see a percentage on the screen, and see a dice roll. I know that's far more complicated to program though.
- BUGS -
#1 My game would sometimes freeze for no reason, then about two seconds later unfreeze. Not sure about the cause.
#2 Whenever I quick-save or the game auto-saves, would it be possible to get the freeze time down? It feels too long at the moment.
#3 Camera placements sometimes clipped through characters. Especially with Auntie when she turns into hag form. The three times I played it, my character ended up inside the hag.
