Playing a Warlock too. You absolutely can reapply your hex. It pops up in your hotbar as a separate option. You also get a 'condition' on your icon, reminding you to do this. I'm going to go try to get into a fight to post a screenshot. I admit that it wasn't immediately obvious, but hex def does have the functionality you're asking for.
