I re-loaded this area so many times because I kept fighting them and getting walloped at level 4. Came close a few times but you are at a huge disadvantage. However....

After interrupting lae'zel and speaking on her behalf and successfully skill checking the Githyanki guy with sleight of hand option he tells you they are hunting those who crashed in the mind flayer ship. Afterwards Lae'zel mentions that is not the "creche" they are looking for and the real one must be close or something.
