Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - General [co-op] Switching characters during dialogue

Hi!

So I've seen that there is an option to switch between characters during dialogues, cinematic events. Sadly It's not seems to work in co-op mode (between the players' custom characters).
Is it a feature we can hope to see in the future? I'm a lucky guy to have a few buddies to play with, but it doesn't feel to be in a functional party if we can't let an other party member step in when we need his/her expertise. It's like a cleric standing next to some npc and watching them bleeding out just because the fighter initiated the conversation. Or a wizard would mention something important about the ancient runes but hey, he wasn't the fastest to start the cinematic event.

I do not know if we´re talking about the same but you can switch characters, but it´s only to move an do things with the others while your main character is talking with the NPC.

It is very useful to distract NPCs and move the rest of the party to an advantageous position.

Oh. I didn't know that. Damn. I think you basically answered my question, that noone else in my party will contribute anything. I'll never understand why is this a thing.
