First time exposure to 5e. I have played 2nd 3rd, 3.5, and Pathfinder.
Alignments were a thing in all of these. Memorizing the same spell twice was a thing in all of these. Every DND video game in the last 20 years that I played had these things.
As for having not read announcements. The only announcement I got was that the game was available for early access on steam, so I downloaded and installed it.
It is good to hear that many of my concerns are already planned to be addressed with later releases.
Though no one touched on my concerns about this continuing the legacy that Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 started.
And it seems like we are in agreement that many important character statistics are not shown.
