I haven't played a druid myself yet but having a druid companion showed a very clear difference in mechanic versus 5e rules in that if a druid in their wildshape reaches 0 HP they turn back into their human form.
This really took me aback when I learned the mechanics for wildshape didn't follow 5e and that the it just outright killed the druid companion I had with me.
