Ok, so I got level 5 lockpick <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />, and went downstairs in the healer of verdistis's room, and I moved all the barrels away, after getting the tea <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />, the money, the potions and all the parchments, I saw a blue shiny thing on the floor, I was wondering what to do about that, and also, can you tell the healer about the tea and the celler <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />? I was begging to think that the thing on the floor was probably the dragon scale, but what is it?

There was a planned quest about an invisible ring, described in the book, that was taken out of the game. Maybe the blue shiny thing had something to do with this, or it is decoration, or the remnants of a failed experiment.

???????? how can you go downstairs in his house? there's no hatch!!

Look at the bed in the SE corner: hatch underneath, lockpick lvl 5.

Zandalor here, I found the hatch under bed so will I need take all the stuf on the table to kill the talking tree? Or is it part of a different quest, or a wast of time? You just need a barrel of tea to kill the tree (IIRC there are three there). Don't move any barrels that are open, unless you intend for them to break and release the poison when dropped.

If you click on an open barrel: It closes and may be dropped&dragged into your inventory safely.
if you've reached the tree: Open inventory, click on barrel to open it and throw.
The rest on the table is a waste of time. I spent 3 RL days in there to find a solution for the invisibility ring (was mentioned in the book) = NO way. Quest was taken out of the game.

i'm confused. if you use the tea to kill the tree, can you still complete the two quests involving the tree? ie for branch and herb?

the herbs you cab get by talking to the tree.
saying something about woodcutters
after givin it to you. the second time you aprouch th e tree it will atack you.

Arnlof you have to accept those 2 quests BEFORE you kill the tree. Why? Cause both items are in his possession/near him and if he dies too early (before you accept these quests) = you'll miss one of those items.

I did not kill the tree. I talked to it both times and it gave me what I asked.
I actaully blew my character up w/ the tea...LOL

What i don't get (maybe not enough time) Why Larian didn't take the book about the ring out - i am sure it frustrated a lot of people - looking for the ring...trying to make it appear... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Maybe in DD2...

I figured the ring would come to me if I did this or that in the correct order.
It never did so I didn't think to much about it. Ya maybe in D-2
